In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.

Working Conditions
- This position is located at the CAL FIRE Training Center in Ione, CA, 45 minutes southeast of Sacramento in a rural community.
- Incumbent shall be able to communicate effectively, work independently or as a team member on projects/assignments, work with various levels of staff and management, handle a dynamic workload with no constraints, maintain a professional work appearance and environment, and utilize various software including, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, OneNote, Publisher, Outlook and other web-based software. Proficiency using G-Suite platform is desirable. Statewide travel may be required up to 5% and may include overnight stays.

This non-confidential Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is designed to elicit information regarding each applicant’s abilities, knowledge, and experience in relation to the Associate Governmental Program Analyst position in the Fire Control Support Division, within the CAL FIRE Training Center.
Please submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the hiring manager’s review. Applications without an SOQ will not be considered. If your qualifications are competitive, you will be invited to come in for an in-person interview. When completing the SOQ, please include specific examples and explain your responses thoroughly. Your SOQ should be no longer than two (2) pages, single spaced with 12 pt. Arial font with one (1) inch margins.
