Are you a technically skilled, design-driven architect looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a Project Architect to join our Residential team in Pleasanton, CA . This role is ideal for someone who thrives on leading project documentation, solving design challenges, and collaborating across teams to deliver thoughtful, high-quality low-density residential work including single family detached, townhouses, and condos. This is a hybrid position, at our Pleasanton, CA office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead QA/QC reviews of project documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with design intent and client expectations, with a focus on townhouse and single-family detached residential projects.
• Take the lead on architectural assignments for moderate to complex residential projects, applying advanced design and technical skills.
• Perform analysis of design, planning, and layout solutions that support project goals.
• Gather and evaluate relevant data and translate findings into actionable design decisions.
• Provide architectural consultation from Schematic Design through permitting and Construction Administration, ensuring they meet established specifications and quality standards.
• Direct and oversee the production of design and construction documents; ensure alignment with codes, budgets, and design intent.
• Mentor staff and provide technical guidance to elevate their professional growth.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients, outside consultants, Project Manager, and Project Team to ensure a seamless project experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Deep experience supporting technical and design development for a wide range of project types—low density residential preferred.
• Proven experience leading QA/QC processes to maintain high-quality design and construction documentation.
• Deep understanding of the International Building Code (IBC) , California Building Code (CBC) , and California Residential Code (CRC) .
• A curiosity-driven mindset, with a desire to explore new perspectives and a commitment to continuous learning and growth.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and an ability to navigate and apply code constraints creatively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead, collaborate, and build strong working relationships.
• A self-motivated and reliable work ethic, with the ability to perform effectively both independently and within a team.
• Leadership skills that support and elevate early career professionals.
• High proficiency in Revit/BIM and SketchUp.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed & registered Architect in the state of CA.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Bachelor or Master of Architecture (required).
• Recent experience working on architectural projects within the United States.
• Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
• Experience coordinating with U.S.-based clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
• Commitment to their own professional growth.
• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Please note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage. We also offer the opportunity to participate in a pre-tax Flexible Spending plan, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and 401k.

Salary Range : $90,000 - $110,000 depending on qualifications. Placement within this pay range will be determined by factors such as education, qualifications, project complexity and/or experience. The maximum is reserved for candidates who currently meet all job requirements.
