Information Technology Associate

Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the IT Supervisor II, the Information Technology Associate will perform a wide variety of complex technical duties related to IT purchasing, budgeting, and invoicing. As such, the incumbent typically performs a variety of recurring, well-defined tasks requiring occasional, innovative problem-solving within guidelines and scope that may encompass one or more units, functions, or processes. The duties of this position primarily fall under the Client Services and Business Technology Management domains.

Beginning July 1, 2026, CalRecycle staff will be office centered, requiring employees to report to the office at least four days per week. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the positions designated headquarter location, as reflected on the duty statement and at their own expense.

Special Requirements

Applicant must be able to able to lift and carry objects at weight of at least 30 lbs, push a work cart of IT equipment independently, and travel independently to setup computer equipment.

Statement of Qualifications

SOQs should be no more than one page, in 12-point Arial font, with 1-inch margins. The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. It should supplement, not restate, the content of your resume and application.
