PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Nashville, TN 37203 (Tennessee healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: 33-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens Registered Nurse contract
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (8/11/2025 – 11/10/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• EMR System: Meditech
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1550–$1590 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse – Tennessee or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, step-down, or acute care nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) certifications
• EKG Interpretation certification
• Clinical experience with post-op CABGs, vascular, and general cardiac patient populations
• Proficiency in cardiac drips/titrations and electrolyte replacement
• Experience managing chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, and TR bands
• Ability to float to other units as needed

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to PCU and step-down patients, including post-op cardiac and vascular cases
• Monitor and titrate cardiac drips, manage electrolyte replacement, and provide advanced cardiac nursing care
• Manage chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, and TR bands for cardiac patients
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide excellent patient experience with a focus on pain management, communication, and responsiveness
• Work every other weekend and fill in scheduling needs as required
• Float to other nursing units as needed per facility policy
