Lab Test Engineer

Position Overview

The Lab Test Engineer is an important technical role in the Systems Engineering organization at Eridu, responsible for managing prototypes, bringing up systems and executing test plans. In addition, this role is responsible for installing lab equipment, and general lab maintenance.

Responsibilities

Prototype Management

• Organize inventory, delivery, allocation and deployment of system prototypes
• Order materials and accessories associated with prototypes
• Organize prototype reworks and maintain accurate records of them

System Bringup & Test

• Meticulously assemble prototypes (mechanical and electrical integration)
• Install firmware, run diagnostics and troubleshoot prototypes
• Execute test plans for electrical performance, mechanical integrity, and thermal behavior of systems
• Measure PCBA power, ground, signals and optical waveforms through basic oscilloscope probing
• Analyze and interpret test data, identify trends or anomalies, and prepare technical reports.
• Contribute to design reviews by providing test-based insights and recommendations.

Lab Installations & Management

• Oversee installation of lab equipment, working with vendors as needed
• Manage maintenance and calibration of instruments to ensure data accuracy.
• Procure lab supplies
• Oversee daily laboratory activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in lab management, product validation, or reliability testing in electronics, HPC, or networking hardware.
• Hands-on experience with environmental chambers, vibration/shock testers, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, and thermal measurement tools.
• Understanding of PCB design and test, system-level integration, and enclosure-level mechanical validation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test documentation.

The starting base salary for the selected candidate will be established based on their relevant skills, experience, qualifications, work location, market trends, and the compensation of employees in comparable roles.
