Accountant
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the full accounting operations for our primary organization and its two affiliated entities. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional capable of managing comprehensive financial processes independently. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of integrity, initiative, and a proven track record of managing GAAP-compliant audits in an accrual accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Accounting & Audit Support (Primary Entity):
- Lead all accounting functions under the accrual basis, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare and manage financial statements, general ledger entries, month-end and year-end closings.
- Serve as the primary liaison during annual GAAP-standard audits, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Maintain detailed documentation and reconciliations for audit readiness.
- Oversee the complete accounting cycle for two sister companies, including income tracking, expense management, and reconciliation.
- Standardize financial reporting across all entities while keeping their records separate and compliant with respective requirements.
- Process biweekly payrolls accurately and on time for all entities.
- Ensure proper application and tracking of employee benefits, deductions, and paid time off.
- Coordinate with third-party payroll providers and benefit administrators.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes from a payroll and benefits perspective.
- Help maintain personnel records related to compensation and benefit enrollment.
- Provide financial reports related to workforce budgeting, benefits costs, and related metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct involvement with GAAP audits.
- Proficient with accounting software, payroll systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage responsibilities across multiple entities.
