We are seeking a Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine preferred) who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a secure institutional setting. This position is based at an ICE detention center serving both male and female populations in California City, CA .

Position Overview:

The Physician provides medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care while ensuring compliance with facility policies and standards. The role involves examinations, diagnoses, prescribing treatments, minor procedures, and providing health counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive medical care, including exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-ups.

• Lead and guide the facility’s medical team in collaboration with the Health Services Supervisor.

• Conduct clinical rounds, admissions evaluations, and participate in treatment team meetings.

• Monitor patient hospitalizations and manage critical health issues.

• Perform minor surgical procedures as needed.

• Ensure quality control of medical services and maintain accurate documentation.

• Provide health education and counseling to patients.

• Serve as an on-call physician when required.

Qualifications:

• MD with a valid medical license (California preferred or ability to obtain).

• Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician training or experience (preferred).

• 3+ years of clinical experience, ideally in correctional or institutional healthcare (preferred).

• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $275,000 – $325,000 per year (based on experience).
