Information technology specialist
Under the direction of the IT Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) is responsible for administering cloud-based technologies at the California School for the Deaf, Riverside (CSDR).
This includes, but is not limited to, Azure Cloud Services, Microsoft 365 administration, Intune, ServiceNow, and other cloud platforms specific to CSDR. The ITS I demonstrates proficiency in managing a wide range of cloud-based information technology systems, software, policies, best practices, analytical methods, and technical report writing.
The incumbent will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and administrator for all cloud services used by CSDR and may also provide support or collaborate with IT personnel at the California Department of Education’s (CDE) Los Angeles site, Diagnostic Center South. Additionally, the ITS I may be required to serve as a backup to the primary on-premises server administrator. Duties may include, but are not limited to, Active Directory account creation and maintenance, VMware administration, physical server maintenance, and general server room oversight.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a dynamic school environment, and a commitment to providing timely support to meet the technology needs of the school community. This position is based in Riverside, CA, with occasional travel required to support the needs of the Los Angeles Diagnostic Center South (DCS).
