Manufacturing Engineer 3 Build Planning and Execution
Join our fast-paced and passionate team as a Manufacturing Engineer focused on Build Planning & Execution. While our NPI team defines the "how," you will define the "when" and the "flow." You will be instrumental in building our production foundation from the ground up, ensuring that our laser sub-assembly builds are executed with surgical precision and peak efficiency.
Your key responsibilities are as follows:
- Production Architecture: Define and maintain the sequence of operations, including Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and manufacturing routers for complex sub-assemblies.
- Capacity & Flow: Perform takt time analysis and line balancing to identify bottlenecks and optimize the throughput of the laser production line.
- Floor Leadership: Act as the primary technical point of contact for the production floor, resolving "stalls," managing non-conformances (MRB), and implementing immediate corrective actions.
- ERP/MES Management: Champion the use of ERP/MRP systems to track material velocity, labor standards, and build progress.
- Continuous Improvement: Reduce cycle times and eliminate waste in the assembly process through lean initiatives and Kaizen events.
Requirements
- Export Control: This position requires access to export-controlled information. Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a U.S. person as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).
Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-tech, highly automated, cleanroom manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Semiconductor, or Medical Device preferred).
Skills:
- Expertise in managing complex, multi-level BOMs within an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
- Proven track record of driving Lean Manufacturing principles and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills using SQL, Excel, or Tableau for production metrics.
- Expertise with ISO 9000/9001 certification.
- Factory flow simulation and modelling preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma green belt or equivalent preferred.
Startup Mindset:
- You are a disciplined problem-solver who enjoys building systems where they don't yet exist and thrives under the pressure of production deadlines.
Benefits
The expected annual salary range for this position is $125,000-$175,000 (commensurate with experience).
