Sales Representative - Residential & Small Commercial Contractor Sales
We are hiring a driven Sales Representative to generate new business and close residential and small commercial projects within a contractor services environment.
This is a hunter sales role for someone who is comfortable creating their own opportunities, meeting with customers in person, and closing projects without relying on inbound leads. The right candidate has experience selling high-ticket services, understands how to build trust quickly, and knows how to move customers from first conversation to signed agreement.
This role is best suited for a self-motivated closer who enjoys prospecting, in-home consultations, relationship building, and commission-based earning potential.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business through door knocking, referrals, networking, cold outreach, and personal prospecting
- Conduct in-home and onsite consultations with residential and small commercial customers
- Evaluate customer needs, explain service options, and present tailored project solutions
- Prepare and walk customers through proposals, financing options, and contract details
- Close high-ticket projects and manage the sales process through signed agreement
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospects, follow-ups, and open opportunities
- Track sales activity, customer communication, and pipeline progress in the CRM
- Coordinate with estimating, operations, and project teams after the sale to ensure a smooth handoff
- Build repeat and referral business through strong customer service and follow-through
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in high-ticket sales, contractor services, home improvement, solar, roofing, HVAC, construction, or a similar field
- Proven success generating your own leads and closing deals independently
- Experience selling directly to homeowners or small business customers
- Comfortable with outbound prospecting, including door-to-door sales and cold outreach
- Ability to run in-home or onsite sales presentations without heavy oversight
- Direct closing experience required; this is not a support, coordination, or estimating-only role
- Solar sales experience is a plus, but not required for candidates with strong closing ability
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly self-motivated and comfortable working in a commission-driven environment
