Group Leader - Material Handling 1

These functions include but are not limited to shipping and receiving, material stocking, material issuance, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, chemical/biohazardous waste handling, product handling in temperature-controlled environment, general housekeeping, and maintaining accurate clerical records in a GMP-regulated environment. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Load / unload trucks and trailers and complete receiving documentation and entries into the SAP system. 2. Stack / load pallets and transport material by operating various types of material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, electric pallet jack). 3. Sort and stock materials, perform product identification and damage inspection. 4. Maintain accurate and complete inventory control of materials stored in the main and satellite warehouses. 5. Conduct scheduled cycle counts and physical inventories. 6. Research, reconcile and correct inventory discrepancies. 7. Responsible for the internal delivery of materials to the appropriate facility locations. 8. Perform handling of hazardous / bio-hazardous / pathological waste and used medical equipment as required per established procedure and Environmental Health & Safety policy. 9. Perform routine housekeeping duties in all warehouses and work areas in compliance with departmental procedures and GMP requirements. 10. Maintain current logs in an accurate and legible manner (e.g. housekeeping log, forklift checklist, etc.) in accordance with departmental procedures. 11. Strict adherence to procedures and practices according to FDA regulations. 12. Strong emphasis on documentation according to FDA regulations. 13. Adhere to departmental corporate safety policies. 14. Trains entry level personnel. 15. Performs more complex and advanced job tasks. 16. Assist management in coordinating and scheduling the department's day to day operations. 17. Serves in a leadership role in the absence of direct supervision. **REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associate degree, applicable certification, and/or military veterans preferred. 2. Minimum of 3 years of related warehouse and inventory control experience is required, preferably in a pharmaceutical, GMP, or FDA regulated environment. 3. Requires an in depth understanding of material handling, warehousing and inventory control. 4. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of cGMPs, FDA regulations, and industry guidelines. 5. Forklift experience (stand up or sit down) in a warehouse environment is required. 6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, train, coach and develop department personnel. 7. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. 8. Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail. 9. Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment. 10. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines. 11. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in a team environment. 12. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. 13. Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 14. Specific experience with SAP inventory control is preferred. 15. Must be flexible with working hours / shifts in order to accommodate the 24 hour, 7 day plant operation. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** 1. Ability to lift /move up to 50 pounds. 2. Ability to stand for extended periods - up to four (4) hours at a time. 3. Manual dexterity to perform all job functions. 4. Exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals and biological hazards. 5. Must be able to work in cold environments. The estimated pay scale for the Group Leader - Material Handling role based in Los Angeles, CA is $25.55 - $29.00 per hour. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 5% of the company bonus pool.
