California Physical Therapist Job Details

• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel/Contract Physical Therapist)
• Location: Alturas, CA 96101 – Northern California hospital
• Setting: Hospital (Inpatient and Outpatient Physical Therapy)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (No weekends)
• Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed 36)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,620–$2,690
• Patient Load: 8–9 patients daily; 1 hour for evaluations, 45 minutes for follow-ups; no double booking

Physical Therapist Qualifications

• Current California Physical Therapist license or certification
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist (3+ years preferred)
• Current BCLS certification
• Proficient in physical therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
• Knowledge of infection control and rehabilitative medicine practices
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Basic computer proficiency

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate physical therapy services under the Director of Physical Therapy
• Administer physical agents as prescribed by referring physicians
• Supervise departmental operations and ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards
• Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives
• Maintain accurate patient records and department documentation
• Assess and reassess patients across the lifespan, developing individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on physical therapy treatment plans and progress
• Ensure patient safety and uphold infection control protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
• Assist with department budgeting, equipment management, and staff training
• Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to high-quality patient care
