Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse, PCU, San Luis Obispo, California. Travel - temporary assignment starting 08/10/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $1,998–$2,052 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts. Unit focus: step-down unit with RN responsibilities and supervision of ancillary staff. This assignment is represented by CNA and aligns with RN scope of practice in a high-acuity, inpatient-style setting. Key Highlights

- Plan and provide nursing care for patients in the SDU, including continuous monitoring and timely response to clinical changes.
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage patient care during life-threatening emergencies.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, document responses, and adjust care as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and high-quality care standards; document and report changes to the RN team and physicians.
- Document patient progress in the electronic health record with accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate with patients and families as appropriate, ensuring confidentiality and clear care explanations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians; activate rapid response when indicated.
- Utilize telemetry and other monitoring equipment to detect evolving patient conditions and escalate as needed. Requirements
- Active California RN license
- 1+ year of RN experience in step-down/SDU or comparable critical care setting
- Ability to interpret ECG rhythms and respond to emergencies
- Proficiency in patient assessment, prioritization, and care coordination
