Workday Specialist
Job Description and Duties

As a member of the Office of Human Resources (OHR) the Staff Services Manager (SSM) I (Specialist) serves as a project manager, lead, and subject matter expert on the Department of Justice (DOJ) Workday Human Capital Management solution and associated modules. The SSM I (Specialist) works closely with HR and Information Technology business partners on Workday system development and improvement initiatives to recommend and assist in the implementation of goals, objectives, and improvements for assigned functional areas. The SSM I (Specialist) also establishes schedules and methods for achieving assigned work objectives, develops and maintains system configuration, and tests and implements Workday enhancements and modifications. As a subject matter expert, the SSM I (Specialist) acts as a lead and provides guidance and consultation on the most complex configuration of Workday features and functionality. The SSM I (Specialist) provides excellent customer service and education to end-users on Workday and is responsible for Workday maintenance and operations. Working ConditionsThis position has been designated as eligible for telework and is currently a remote centered position. The position will however require in- person attendance on a recurring basis. The selected candidate would report to DOJ headquarters in Sacramento when required for job functions, in-person meetings, trainings, etc. Expenses related to travel to the office when required are the responsibility of the employee. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.

- Possess a solid understanding of HR functions
- Possess strong communication skills and a solid work ethic and demonstrate attention to detail
- Ability to facilitate meetings to gather business requirements, make recommendations, and present solutions to end business users
- Possess demonstrated ability to manage tasks, schedules, and risks/issues.
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision
- Possess strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, interpret data, and identify root causes
- Familiarity with process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, and maintenance of system artifacts
- Familiarity with Agile or lean methodologies for continuous improvement
