Controller
Position Overview: Q Microwave, a leader in the precision RF manufacturing, design and manufacture of cutting-edge military and defense microwave solutions, is seeking a Controller to join our entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast-paced team located in El Cajon, CA. Q Microwave is recognized for its advanced capabilities in RF filtering and custom RF subassembliestechnologies that require deep technical knowledge and a passion for precision. Our fully vertically integrated facility in San Diego enables close collaboration between design and manufacturing, ensuring unmatched quality and performance in RF product development. As a part of Amphenols global network of over 130 business units, Q Microwave operates with the technical focus and agility of a specialized design center while leveraging the strength, stability, and resources of one of the worlds largest interconnect solution providers The Controller is responsible for managing the accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions of the business unit in compliance with corporate, regulatory, and GAAP standards. The role supports strategic decision-making through financial analysis and cost control. Key Responsibilities: Provides required financial information to unit and corporate management Assures compliance with cost accounting regulations Prepares annual operating budget for the division Prepares monthly operational review packages and forecasts Monitors and reviews key cost reduction activities Monitors and reviews backlog inputs and profitability Evaluates and controls the financial results in order to achieve a proper return on investment Develops, in conjunction with other directors, long range plan goals and objectives Maintains and oversees Sarbanes Oxley compliance and testing requirements Performs and revises hard close procedure quarterly Maintains a document system of accounting policies and procedures Provides financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments and pricing decisions Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required Bachelors degree in Accounting 5-10 years of progressive responsibility and experience in a multi-functional manufacturing environment. Must have a Solid General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Forecasting and Planning background Ability to travel domestically on a moderate (monthly) basis Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive information Preferred Qualifications Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain Knowledge of export regulations including ITAR and EAR Previous work in a cleared facility or defense industry Understanding of physical and cyber-physical security controls Effective written and verbal communication driving collaboration and teamwork throughout the organization Working Conditions: Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 2550 lbs with assistance. Work Environment: Fast-paced production environment with a focus on quality control and attention to detail. Collaborative team setting with frequent interactions with engineers and other technicians.
