Director, Media: Programmatic Lead
We are searching for our next Director, Programmatic Media, to join our Performance Media team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of omnichannel programmatic campaign planning and considers themselves a resourceful and curious problem solver. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering advanced campaigns employing a multi-media approach.
The candidate must possess the ability to break down technical and complex omnichannel programmatic concepts into simple and easy-to-grasp ideas for clients and internal stakeholders to understand. A storyteller at heart, conveying innovative and forward-thinking programmatic strategy and how it fits into the overall media plan is a must.
In addition, this person will be responsible to maintain critical working partnerships across our media group. These partnerships include database services, demand side platform providers, and direct buy media partners. They also will need deep experience in being hands on within a trading desk environment and not afraid to roll their sleeves up to support ongoing campaign initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for flawless execution of the agency’s programmatic omnichannel media campaigns
- Able to craft and author superior omnichannel programmatic strategy that takes advantage of the latest tech and employs it within the challenging pharmaceutical advertising landscape to surpass client goals
- Advanced analytical skills showcasing both the ability to interpret overall campaign performance (within and beyond KPIs) and ability to articulate results to non-media experts
- In addition to leading day to day client operations, we expect contributions to critical POV’s and agency thought leadership
- You know how to communicate with clients verbally, in written form and have strong presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial attitude: You’re excited at the idea of building the agency with new tools, ideas, and opportunities
- Cross channel integration: A passion for integrated strategy and execution, with a specific interest in biddable media
- You’re diligent and disciplined yet comfortable in a casual and collaborative environment. Most importantly, you’re truly passionate about advertising and enjoy both teaching and learning about programmatic media
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6+ years of experience in programmatic media
- Must be willing to travel to the client office in San Francisco once or twice a month
- Experience in the day-to-day programmatic campaign management, working across multiple DSPs – Experience with Pulsepoint, DeepIntent, Lasso, Doceree, Trade Desk a plus
- Experience in Pharma required
- Strong POVs, proactively engaged in industry and agency thought leadership
- You’re not shy and enjoy building relationships with clients and know to manage up
- Coach and mentor team members, sharing insights about industry trends
- Utilize your technical knowledge to troubleshoot platforms, systems & tools
- Interpret campaign performance and provide creative optimizations to supervisors and colleagues alike
- You’ve got a bit of an entrepreneurial streak, so you’re excited at the idea of building the agency with new tools, ideas, and opportunities

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $130K to $150K. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
