Field Technician - Solar Panel Tear-Off & Reinstallation Specialist
Accurately disconnect and label all wiring according to industry codes and safety standards.
Properly handle and stage removed equipment for safe transport and reinstallation. Precision Reinstallation: Reinstall solar panels, racking systems, and electrical components with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
Ensure proper alignment, wiring, grounding, and secure connections throughout the entire system.
Conduct thorough post-installation testing and diagnostics to verify system functionality and optimal performance. Safety & Compliance: Prioritize safety in all aspects of work, adhering to all OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and company safety protocols.
Utilize appropriate safety equipment (PPE) consistently, including harnesses, fall protection, and electrical safety gear.
Ensure compliance with all local building codes, electrical codes, and solar industry standards. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Maintain and operate all tools and equipment related to solar panel tear-off and reinstallation in excellent condition.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment as needed. Documentation & Communication: Accurately document all work performed, including tear-off procedures, reinstallation steps, and any issues encountered.
Complete and submit work orders, time sheets, and other necessary reports in a timely manner.
Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, addressing any concerns or questions. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience specializing in solar panel installation.
Proven expertise in working with various solar technologies, including different panel types, racking systems, and inverter technologies.
Extensive experience working at heights and handling heavy equipment. Skills & Knowledge: In-depth understanding of solar PV systems, electrical systems, and relevant codes and regulations.
Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment for tear-off and reinstallation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve installation issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Certifications (Highly Preferred by not required): NABCEP certification.
OSHA 10/30 certifications.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (required) Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs or more) frequently.
Comfortable working at heights on roofs and scaffolds.
Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
