Principal Product Manager - Orchestration

Lambda
San Francisco, CA

In 2012, Lambda started with a crew of AI engineers publishing research at top machine-learning conferences. We began as an AI company built by AI engineers. That hasn't changed. Today, we're on a mission to be the world's top AI computing platform. We equip engineers with the tools to deploy AI that is fast, secure, affordable, and built to scale. Whether they need powerhouse GPU hardware on-site or the flexibility of cloud-based solutions, we've got the horsepower to make it happen. Lambda’s AI Cloud has been adopted by the world’s leading companies and research institutions including Anyscale, Rakuten, The AI Institute, and multiple enterprises with over a trillion dollars of market capitalization. Our goal is to make computation as effortless and ubiquitous as electricity.

If you'd like to build the world's best deep learning cloud, join us.

*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.

About the role

As Principal Product Manager for our AI Orchestration Platform, you’ll define and execute the strategic vision for how our customers schedule, manage, and optimize AI workloads. You will collaborate deeply with engineering, sales, research, and senior leadership to innovate and deliver the platform that shapes how organizations train and deploy models at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, own, and execute the strategy for the Orchestration Platform layer of Lambda’s public cloud.

  • Own revenue growth, profitability, adoption, and customer satisfaction.

  • Drive execution across engineering, support, sale, marketing, and leadership.

  • Stay ahead of the curve on trends in AI workload scheduling, distributed training, and inference.

  • Engage deeply with AI developers to understand their workflows, pain points, and needs to shape the product.

Your technical qualification:

  • 10+ years of PM experience, with 5+ years focused on developer-facing K8s services.

  • You’ve taken a product from 0 to 1 and scaled it to commercial success.

  • Your K8s knowledge runs so deep, engineers forget you're a PM.

  • You stay plugged into the K8s community – you’re passionate, well-networked, and know where things are headed.

  • Strong technical foundation (CS, Engineering, Math degree or equivalent experience).

You'll thrive if:

  • You ship the right thing fast and own outcomes.

  • You do whatever it takes to get the job done.

  • You find crisp paths forward through uncertainty, ambiguity, constraints, and obstacles.

  • You quickly identify what truly matters and make hard trade-offs without hesitation.

  • Teams leave meetings with you energized, aligned, and fully clear on next steps.

  • You thrive in high-stakes, fast-moving environments.

  • You can mobilize teams from standstill to full-speed execution.

Based on market data and other factors, the annual salary range for this position is $300,000 - $385,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
