With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai San Diego is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are currently seeking a positive and self-motivated individual to join our fantastic team as our Staff Accountant emphasizing in Accounts Receivable to join our island-inspired resort.

THE JOB:
This role will report to: The Director of Finance and Assistant Controller
An Accounts Receivable (AR) Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the entire cycle of customer payments from invoicing to collecting. Additionally this vital role assists with maintaining a healthy cash flow for the property and require strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, as well as a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and accurately bill group accounts
- review and accurately bill FITs/wholesale accounts
- reconcile and post payments
- resolve guest billing inquiries
- attend credit meetings (take notes and follow up on actionable times)
- collect outstanding A/R
- maintain current aging
- other areas as required
To be successful in this role you should have the ability to successfully;
Education & Experience:
- Previous experience in Accounting
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in a previous hotel is strongly preferred
Technical Skills:
- Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems
- Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions with strong problem solving skills
- Developed computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Advanced in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs will occur
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
- Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations
Communication & Other Soft Skills :
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- The ability to meet scheduling demands to include Monday-Friday office hours and weekends as needed
