Product Designer II, Merchant
About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Designer to join the Uber Eats Merchant Design team. This team builds the tools restaurants use to set up their storefronts, manage menus, handle orders, and understand their performance. Our work supports restaurants of all types, so the tools need to be clear, reliable, and easy for busy teams with varying levels of technical experience.
We’re looking for a candidate with strong visual design skills who can synthesize learnings from User Research and design workflows that are simple, trustworthy, and visually refined.
This position focuses on Early Life Cycle (ELC), where the goal is to help new merchants get started quickly and confidently. You’ll shape the early steps of their journey with Uber Eats – from onboarding, setup, and first-use guidance – to create a smooth path to operational readiness.
What You Will Do
- Create wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes to solve complex user experience problems
- Present work in various mediums and fidelities throughout the design process to stakeholders
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality
- Partner with our user research team to understand the needs of our merchants and integrate findings into design approaches
- Brainstorm and iterate with your design colleagues and product partners
- Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs are built to a high standard
- Ship, measure, and improve your designs based on quantitative and qualitative feedback
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of product design experience
- A portfolio demonstrating high-quality design work, attention to detail, visual explorations, and your problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional interaction and visual design skills
- Effective prototyping skills using Figma and other tools
- Experience designing complex web and mobile products for enterprise or consumer applications
- Experience working on systems or service design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills
- Experience in driving efficiency and innovation by integrating AI into design processes
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$169,000 per year.
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at the following link .
