GeoSoils, Inc. (GSI), a division of NEC Group Inc., is a geotechnical, coastal, and environmental engineering firm founded in 1974, is seeking Licensed Geotechnical Engineers to support our California offices (San Diego County, Riverside County, Orange County, and Los Angeles County).
Candidates must have a history of increasing levels of responsibility and a minimum of ten years’ experience in geotechnical engineering. Coastal Engineering experience is desirable.
As a GSI Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for technical and business aspects of the company and may provide expert technical input and/or oversight on large, complex projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership in geotechnical engineering, overseeing project teams, and mentoring junior engineers and geologists.
- Manage geotechnical investigations, including developing project schedules; planning staffing; technical analyses; report preparation; financial management and cost control.
- Manage junior engineers and geologists in conducting their day-to-day duties.
- Conduct complex geotechnical analyses, including foundation design, slope stability, and seismic assessments.
- Lead site investigations and providing expert recommendations to inform project designs.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to industry standards on geotechnical projects.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar engineering or sciences related degrees.
- A Professional Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license issued by the State of California.
· Minimum of 6 years of geotechnical engineering experience, including substantial project management experience.
· Established client relationships with public agencies and/or private entities, with a track record of success in this arena.
· Extensive knowledge of codes, principles and practices of engineering.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and analytical tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proven track record in geotechnical engineering design.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Other Miscellaneous Qualities:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must be physically fit to handle field work activities
