Job details:
Position: L&D RN Travel $$SN$$
Location: Fairfield, California
Shift: Nights – 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Duration: 8 weeks

Job Duties:
• Provide safe, effective, and quality nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit according to hospital standards and nursing practice models.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for obstetric and laboring patients.
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care.
• Perform patient and family education regarding treatment plans, recovery, and newborn care.
• Document patient care accurately using manual and electronic charting systems.
• Ensure safe patient handoffs and maintain effective communication with care teams.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment and instrumentation used in Labor & Delivery.
• Advocate for patients while providing culturally competent and age-appropriate care.

Requirements

• Active California RN License required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NRP certification required
• Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience required
• Recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN accepted
• Strong communication and patient care coordination skills required
• Experience with electronic documentation systems preferred
• Ability to perform physical nursing duties including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and reaching required
