Job Description

The AI Futures team is a forward-looking, hands-on group that accelerates the adoption of generative AI across the platform. We design and build powerful, reusable demos, agents, and proof-of-concepts that drive product feedback, customer engagement, and field enablement. We partner deeply with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to showcase what’s possible—and then help make it real.

As a Staff Software Engineer – AI Futures, you will play a key role in rapidly prototyping and delivering production-quality demo experiences that scale across business units. You’ll work with bleeding-edge AI capabilities and own full lifecycle delivery—from design and integration to refinement and reuse.

What you get to do in this role:

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.
• Design software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite
• Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
• Build high-quality, scalable, and reusable demo solutions that showcase GenAI capabilities in real-world use cases.
• Experience in prompt engineering and GenAI
• Experience in using AI productivity tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, etc is a plus or nice to have
• Work closely with field, product, and engineering stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into demo assets and proof-of-concepts.
• Create parameterized or templatized demos that reduce lift for future engagements and support internal reuse.
• Lead design and development of AI-powered agents, workflow solutions, and customer-centric scenarios across ITOM, CSM, and beyond.
• Actively contribute to the formation of best practices, patterns, and technical playbooks through hands-on work—not theoretical process.
• Stay current with new AI features and rapidly prototype integrations to validate value and usability.
• Mentor and collaborate with peers across the team to accelerate team velocity and knowledge sharing.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $147,300 - $257,800, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
