Join Our Team at Sushi Nakazawa
We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Chef to join our team at Sushi Nakazawa Los Angeles in the heart of the SoRo Village. Reporting to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, this role supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients and ensuring the kitchen is fully ready for each service.

Position: Prep Chef

Pay Range: $20.00- $22.00 (Full-Time, Non-Exempt)
Location: 145 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048

What You’ll Do

• Prepare ingredients, sauces, and components for daily service
• Execute assigned prep tasks according to Company recipes and standards
• Support BOH operations through proper storage, labeling, and temperature control
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation that meets DOH and OSHA standards
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleaning of prep areas
• Follow all safety guidelines and communicate hazards or product shortages
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth service execution
• Complete prep lists and other assigned tasks promptly and accurately

What You’ll Bring

• 1+ years of experience in a prep or culinary role within a fine dining or high-volume kitchen
• Strong foundational knife skills and knowledge of food handling procedures
• Ability to stay organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
• A positive attitude and professionalism under pressure
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30+ lbs
• Clear communication skills and a team-first mindset
