Senior Logistics Specialist
: San Diego - Headquarters Supply Chain Regular Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Specialist who will play a pivotal role in optimizing the Element Biosciences supply chain operations. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving efficiency, reducing errors, and enhancing customer satisfaction. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in coordinating, monitoring, and managing the movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and minimizing transportation costs. Experience with logistics and supply chain management is a must. This role will report to the Sr. Director Business Process & Logistics and will be a San Diego basedrole .

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, distributors, and transportation providers to ensure the smooth flow of goods from point of origin to destination
- Select and coordinate inbound and outbound transportation to schedule pickups and deliveries while optimizing cost and delivery times. Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Prepare shipping documents, customs documentation, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements
- Analyze and characterize department performance within the inbound and outbound logistics processes, including evaluating logistics costs to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to improve the company's bottom line
- Proactively identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions
- Responsible for auditing and approving freight invoices from service providers and resolving invoice discrepancies as needed
- Assist/participate in creation of key processes, flow diagrams and work instructions
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent relevant education) preferably in the Biotech/Life Sciences industry
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in logistics or supply chain management
- Experience with cold chain product processing and logistics
- Strong knowledge of transportation, customs, and import/export regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Proactive in approach to work, identifying potential issues well in advance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

Base Compensation Pay Range:
- $85,500 - $104,500
In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
Please note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
