Legal Assistant
We are a dynamic, mission-driven litigation firm located in Los Angeles, California, committed to advocating for consumers’ rights and pursuing justice under California law. Our firm is known for its strategic litigation, collaborative team culture, and commitment to the professional development of our attorneys.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and deadline-driven Legal Assistant to join our team. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role that demands someone with direct law firm experience, a strong command of the offers and settlements process, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters simultaneously without losing accuracy. If you operate with urgency, take pride in documentation, and communicate with clarity and professionalism, you will fit right in.
In this role, you will work directly within our Offers and Settlements department — supporting attorneys and staff in preparing, tracking, and advancing settlement offers across an active caseload. You will be a key point of coordination between clients, manufacturers, and internal teams, ensuring offers are processed accurately and nothing falls through the cracks.
What You'll Do
- Manage a high volume of active legal matters simultaneously, prioritizing effectively across competing deadlines without dropping the ball.
- Handle inbound communications across Offers and Settlements departments with professionalism and urgency.
- Perform precise offer calculations and prepare offer letters and supporting documentation.
- Draft, proofread, and finalize legal correspondence, client letters, and templates to an exacting standard.
- Maintain meticulous case files, communication logs, and internal records — documentation is non-negotiable in this role.
- Serve as a clear, professional point of contact for clients and manufacturers throughout the offers and settlements process.
- Coordinate cross-departmentally to keep cases moving forward on schedule.
What We're Looking For
- Law firm experience required — you have worked in a legal environment and understand the pace, stakes, and standards that come with it.
- Comfort and confidence working with offers — you can calculate, negotiate correspondence, and move offers forward without hand-holding.
- A strong sense of urgency — you understand that deadlines in litigation are not suggestions.
- Exceptional multitasking ability — you can carry several active matters at once and know exactly where each one stands.
- Obsessive attention to detail — errors in this work have real consequences, and you take that seriously.
- Documentation discipline — you record everything, maintain clean files, and leave a clear paper trail.
- Executive-level written and verbal communication — your correspondence is crisp, professional, and appropriate for the context.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with case management systems is a plus.
Requirements
- Law firm background with offers/settlements experience
- Urgency & deadline accountability
- Advanced multitasking under pressure
- Detail orientation and accuracy
- Documentation and records discipline
- Clear, professional executive communication
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Client-focused and empathetic communication style
- Compensation: $28-32/hr
Benefits
