Prep Cook

Loreto in Frogtown/Elysian Valley is looking for a Part-Time Server to join the team! We’re an upscale-casual Mexican seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood dishes inspired by the fresh ingredients from the Baja coast. We are a full bar restaurant with specialty cocktails and a curated wine selection. Mariscos Za Za Zá is our counter-service lunch concept at the same location.

Open Friday - Sunday morning availability required, full availability preferred. All Prep Cooks will start as part-time with opportunity for full-time based on availability, performance, and business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides according to standards
• Ensure prep and work stations are clean
• Understand and apply the correct use of kitchen equipment with respect to safety and maintenance
• Comply with all culinary and mandatory staff training
• Demonstrate efficiency when applying company standards and rules
• Maintain and strictly abide by state and city health code regulations
• Ensure that food leaving the kitchen is checked for quality, quantity, presentation and correct temperature according to established standards
• Report any maintenance deficiencies in a quick and timely way
• Maintain a professional relationship with all restaurant personnel
• Actively involved in maintaining and restocking of necessary ingredients/items
• Adhere to dress code policy in addition to following good personal hygiene habits
• Positive attitude, sense of responsibility and ownership of the position
• Possess attention to detail
• Work with a sense of urgency
• Follow all guidelines in our Kitchen Manual

Qualifications:

• Valid Food Handler’s certificate preferred.
• Experience in upscale casual and high volume restaurants preferred.
• Be comfortable with repetitive motions such as walking, bending and standing during your scheduled shift.
• Be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.

Compensation:

• $19.00 hourly rate.
• This position is included in the full-house tip pool.
