Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 478827

We are partnering with a growing organization in Orange County seeking an Accounting Manager on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing the close process, and supporting the development of the accounting team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Manage general ledger activity, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff (3 direct reports), providing guidance and oversight on daily tasks and development
• Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
• Establish and maintain internal controls and improve accounting processes
• Support audit activities and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors
• Perform variance analysis and provide insights to support business decisions
• Partner cross-functionally with finance and operations to support reporting and analysis
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed
• Drive process improvements and help streamline workflows across the accounting function

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Active CPA or willingness to obtain license
• 7 years of progressive accounting experience with prior leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting processes
• Experience managing month-end close and multi-entity environments preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (Oracle preferred but not required)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a hands-on capacity while managing multiple priorities
