Warehouse/Customer Associate 1st Shift

PrideStaff San Diego has a great opportunity if you have warehouse experience AND great customer service skills that you would like to put to use! This position is located in Kearny Mesa area and this is a temporary to permanent opportunity with this great client!

This is a 1st shift, Mon - Fri, full-time role (including some Saturday work), and the pay is up to 18.50 - 20/hour depending on your experience and interview.

Requirements :

• 2+ years of Warehouse recent experience is a must (recent experience preferred)
• Proven customer service experience is essential.
• Able and willing to help customers by taking their purchase to their car.
• Great communication skills.
• Forklift and pallet jack experience are required.
• Has high work ethics, including punctuality.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to use the four basic functions of a calculator to calculate figures and amounts.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be willing and able to work Saturdays (usually 2 per month).
• Be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 75 pounds.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout your shift.
• Reliable transportation.
• High School diploma or GED.

Job Overview and Responsibilities :

To assist the Manager in providing the Customers with the best possible buying experience in product delivery and after-sale service. To maximize the safe, efficient flow of product in and out of the warehouse. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

• Customer service oriented.
• To load Customer vehicles with regard to the safety of the Customer and the vehicle.
• To load and unload commercial and company trucks with regard to the safety of coworkers and the vehicles.
• To keep on the lookout for safety hazards in the warehouse, and report any hazards to the Manager or Supervisor.
• Be a team player. To demonstrate a willingness and ability to work within a team environment.
• Work cooperatively with others to pull the correct products from stock. Pack and palletize material efficiently and carefully to protect products and minimize breakage.
• To pack orders accurately and fill out warehouse paperwork completely.
• To sweep warehouse floors, parking lots, and loading areas. Also dismantle shipping bundles and crates and dispose of the debris.
• To operate forklift according to safety guidelines.

Work Environment:

The employee works with and in proximity to material handling equipment including forklifts. The noise level of this job is usually moderate. The employee works with and in proximity to packaged, cement-based products such as grouts and cleaning and sealing chemicals for tile and stone. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 75 pounds and to be able to stand, walk, use hands to feel, and carry heavy items throughout your shift every day. You must be able to reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. On occasion, you will be required to stand and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
