Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for an organized accounting professional who enjoys supporting day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

The Accounting Specialist will support accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general accounting administration. Key Responsibilities

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
- Prepare bank, credit card, general ledger, and account reconciliations.
- Generate customer invoices, follow up on outstanding balances, and respond to vendor and customer inquiries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial records, vendor files, expense reports, and accounting documentation.
- Support audits, payroll-related reporting, financial spreadsheets, and additional accounting or administrative tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
- Prepare invoices, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial spreadsheets.
- Assist with month-end close, year-end close, audit support, and payroll-related reporting as needed.

- Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, with 3 to 5 years of related experience preferred for this level.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to prepare accurate reports and spreadsheets.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting procedures.
- Experience maintaining confidential financial records and supporting documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, analytical ability, and deadline management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or other accounting software preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
