Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and training to adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities at various agency sites and programs.
• Encourage independence, inclusion, and skill development in daily living and vocational activities.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional attitude when interacting with individuals served and the community.
• Deliver clear, individualized instructions and guidance based on each person's abilities and goals.
• Accurately complete and submit required documentation, including transportation records, attendance, job coach notes, objective sheets, incident/accident reports, time studies, and case management paperwork.
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting different worksites and adapting to new programs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid California driver's license required; driving is part of the role.
• Proof of current state-required auto insurance.
• Ability to pass required fingerprint background checks through the California Department of Justice and the FBI.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Familiarity with computers and technology.
• Compassion, patience, resourcefulness, and sound decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and motivate others.

Compensation

$23.00 – $25.50 per hour depending on experience and position, plus a $250 sign-on bonus . Starting salary is $23.00.
