K&D Landscaping Inc. is a family-owned and operated business that has been servicing the tri-county area for 40 years. K&D employs over 130 people in the local area and continues to grow. A K&D project is easily recognized throughout the community for its high quality and attention to detail. Building on previous generations, K&D continues the tradition of giving back to their community by performing multiple beautification projects every year. Due in part to this generosity, the company was awarded “Business of the Year” for 2024 by the Aptos Business Chamber of Commerce. K&D’s goal is to continue to "Raise the Bar" in The Landscape Industry!
We currently have a full-time position available as Business Developer . The focus of this job is making connections with people, motivating and inspiring them to achieve results. Knowledge and skill in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to goals is essential. The job environment is fast-paced and results oriented. Because goals and desired results can quickly change, the job requires regularly meeting and pro-actively establishing relationships with new groups. The ability to understand, quickly react and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment is a critical key to success.
Job Duties:
- Drive growth through new client acquisition for Maintenance and Water Management services
- Develop, estimate, and close commercial Maintenance and Water Management contracts
- Establish strong relationships with operations personnel to ensure customer needs are met
- Develop regional contacts and professional network
- Manage a large geographical area
- Participate in industry events as K&D Representative (occasionally nights/weekends)
- Grow and maintain a well-qualified pipeline of new revenue opportunities
- Use and maintain a structured sales process and CRM reporting system
- Research, understand and stay ahead of the market, customers, industry, and competitors with early identification and recommended sales strategies incorporating customer needs, trends, opportunities, and business acumen
Experience/Qualifications:
- Align with K&D Core Values
- Possess valid Calif. Driver’s license and be insurable under K&D insurance guidelines
- Can communicate professionally with Owners/Managers and field staff
- Proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, and email management
- Have a proven track-record for business development, building long term client relationships, and meeting sales and revenue goals
- Be an experienced sales hunter, especially in the area of business-to-business commercial contract sales
- Take a structured approach to sales with organization and a high level of accountability
- Be tenacious, optimistic, proactive, confident, ambitious, and maintain a high work and ethical standards
- Be motivated to make an impact and WIN
Required
- 3-5 years of experience in Landscape Maintenance and/or Irrigation or Water Management
- Horticulture knowledge and experience around Irrigation
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the Industry
Compensation:
$80,000 - $120,000 Annual Salary (Opportunity for more with Commissions!)
