About the Role

As a Tax Investigation Specialist , you will assist in the early stages of the tax resolution process by gathering critical IRS records, submitting required forms, and preparing client files for Case Managers and tax professionals.

You will communicate with the IRS and state agencies, maintain accurate case documentation, and ensure files are properly prepared so cases can move forward efficiently.

This is a 100% in-office role at our Santa Ana, CA headquarters.

What You'll Do:

IRS Case Preparation:

• Submit Power of Attorney (POA) forms to the IRS
• Request and retrieve IRS transcripts for active cases
• Upload and organize tax records within the CRM system

Agency Communication:

• Contact IRS and state agencies to obtain case information
• Monitor transcript updates and case status

File Management:

• Maintain detailed notes and updates in the CRM
• Ensure all case documentation is accurate and organized
• Prepare files for Case Managers and tax professionals

Team Support:

• Work closely with Case Managers and other departments
• Assist with additional tasks that support case progression

What You'll Need:

• Active CTEC Certification
• Active PTIN and CAF Number
• Minimum 2 years of experience with CRM systems or tax software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• College coursework in accounting or business is a plus
