Distribution Specialist

CityTeam in the Neighborhood is seeking a Temporary Distribution Specialist with a passion for helping others in need in an organized manner where we maximize these engagements to promote onramps to lasting solutions. You will primarily focus your time with our Pop-Up Clothing Closet program by assisting the Distribution Supervisor in the processing of non-food donations by supervising volunteers and the tracking of Gift-in-Kind. You will also be driving the Pop-Up Closet box truck to deliver the clothing racks and items to the Pop-up Closet locations. You will assist in the training of Pop-up Closet volunteers to ensure they can perform all the duties well. You will identify and record testimonies of impact from Pop-up Closet guests and volunteers. You will also work closely with the Director of Lasting Solutions to ensure Pop-Up Closet guests are invited to participate in Vital Connections and/or Elevate the Neighborhood programs.
It is important that our Temporary Distribution Specialist provides outstanding customer service, has good project management skills, and has a heart for service. The Distribution Specialist will roll up sleeves and chip in wherever and however needed to support our community outreach and special events. We are a close-knit team who care about each other. The Temporary Distribution Specialist is a temporary non-exempt position wrapped up in a Christian environment that values Teamwork, Accountability, Humility, Innovation, and Joy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ministry
- Assist in the processing of non-food donations, including tracking statistics and submitting reports.
- You will assist in the training of Pop-up Closet volunteers to perform all the duties well. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Foodbank Manager and VolunteerHub systems
- Hospitality and cultural awareness
- Recruiting volunteer support from the Pop-Up guests
- How to promote Lasting Solutions programs
- Ensure that all the procedures and safety protocols are always followed.
- Identify and record testimonies of impact from Pop-up Closet guests and volunteers using a smart phone and wireless microphone.
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner (pallet jack, box truck, etc.)
- Submit all incident reports within 24-hours to Human Resources.
- In the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor, oversee the handling of donations. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Overseeing the proper receiving, processing, and storing of donated goods
- Ensuring efficient distribution and accurate documentation of goods at the warehouse and by teams out in our partnering neighborhoods
- Other duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements:Physical Demands

- Drive, park, and unload legally and in a safe manner
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean record
- No DUI in the past 10-years
- Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Education and Experience
- Customer Service experience
- Prior truck driving experience
- Read, write, and speak Spanish
Work Conditions
- Typical days of work will be Tuesday-Saturday
- The exact days and hours of operation will vary depending on ministry and scheduling needs
- This position will need to work some evenings and weekends
- This position will need to work additional hours (pre-approved overtime) to accommodate the increased volume around special events
- This job primarily operates in an open warehouse environment and outside where you will be exposed to a variety of weather-conditions, including rain, heat, wind, and cold
- This position will frequently work on wet and slippery surfaces
- This position will frequently drive, park, and unload in urban, rural, and suburban areas
Additional Eligibility Qualifications for CityTeam Ministries
- Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers
- Must have compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam's Statement of Faith
- Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ
