Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, assists in coordinating the hospital accounting activities concerned with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Materials Management, Payroll, and General Ledger accounting processes. Computes, verifies, records, and posts data to the General Ledger from various documents and computer-generated financial transactions. Performs all functions with speed and accuracy using calculators, computers, and software systems. Maintains current knowledge of Hospital Accounting Policies and Procedures. Exercises some independent judgement.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

Education:

Prefer Bachelors’ Degree with emphasis in Accounting or Business Administration

Experience:

Prefer 2 years Accounting or Bookkeeping experience, in a hospital setting helpful. Requires experience in performing a volume of numerical detail work, prioritizing duties, managing time, and organizing and keeping systematic records.

Training:

Requires computer knowledge and skills; keyboarding skills, Windows, MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Meditech software and computerized timekeeper knowledge preferred. Demonstrates ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner. Ability to operate 10-key by touch.
