Job Description and Duties

This position supports the CDPH’s mission and strategic plan by providing leadership and oversight of statewide vehicle services, asset management, and warehouse operations that enable the Department’s infrastructure and program delivery.

The Supervisor I oversees staff responsible for managing CDPH’s vehicle fleet, asset inventory, and warehouse logistics. The Supervisor I ensures that all unit activities are conducted in compliance with applicable state policies and regulations, promotes operational efficiency, and supports continuity of services across CDPH’s 100+ programs. The incumbent also ensures that SharePoint resources related to fleet, asset, and warehouse operations are maintained and updated by staff to provide accurate and accessible guidance to internal stakeholders. The incumbent provides subject matter expertise and logistical support during continuity of operations planning (COOP) drills, surplus redistribution efforts, and statewide fleet or inventory audits. The incumbent also oversees the maintenance of logs and documentation related to vehicle usage, asset transfers, and warehouse deliveries.

The Supervisor I works under the general direction of the Supervisor II of the Statewide Infrastructure Support Services Section.

In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:


  • Strong knowledge of state fleet management requirements, including DGS OFAM policies, FAMS reporting, WEX fuel card monitoring, and annual Fleet Acquisition Plan development.
  • Experience overseeing state asset management programs, including SAM/PHAM compliance, WASP AssetCloud administration, inventory reconciliation, surplus processes, and audit preparation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, distribution, surplus logistics, safety compliance, emergency response readiness, and coordination across multiple warehouse locations.
  • Proven leadership skills in supervising, training, coaching, and evaluating staff, with experience developing desk guides, cross - training plans, and supporting recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Strong ability to develop, maintain, and publish internal procedures and SharePoint resources, ensuring policy accuracy, operational consistency, and effective communication across programs.
