As a member of the Java Platform group, you will:

Contribute to various areas of the platform, including the evolution of the Java Language and its specification, the Java Virtual Machine, Java libraries, and Java tools.

Develop the most advanced and secure programming platform.

Collaborate with a team focused on advancing core technologies within the Oracle Corporate Architecture organization, supporting the development of autonomous, secure, and intelligent Oracle Cloud solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related science/engineering field.

• High Proficiency in Java and/or C, C++.

• Experience or coursework in three or more of the following areas are mandatory:

• Operating Systems Internals - Design and Implementation

• Multithreaded/Multi-Core Programming

• Compiler Architecture and/or Program Translation

• Garbage Collection

• Algorithm Analysis

• Ability to thrive and grow in a fast-paced team environment.

• Strong design, implementation, and collaboration skills within a distributed engineering team.

• Familiarity with AI programming and design principles.

• For US candidates working from our Nashville, TN location is highly preferred

Responsibilities

As a member of the Java library software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of the Java Programing Language as well as standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing language features and software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
