Shift: Night (3x12s) | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic acute care team. This role is ideal for nurses with strong clinical judgment, hands-on delivery experience, and the ability to work in both L&D and postpartum settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Mother/Baby units

• Perform sterile vaginal exams (HARDSTOP requirement)

• Triage obstetrical patients and manage labor progression

• Assist with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and C-sections

• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns (EFM – external/internal)

• Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, insulin drips, and antihypertensives

• Deliver newborn care , including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal resuscitation

• Provide postpartum care including fundal checks, breastfeeding support, and patient education

• Float to postpartum unit as needed

Unit Details

• Average Census: 2–3 patients/day

• Beds: 5 | Rooms: 5

• Floating: Required (Postpartum unit)

• Weekend Requirement: Every third (may increase based on unit needs)

• On-Call: Possible, depending on census

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience

• Sterile Vaginal Exam competency – REQUIRED

• Triage experience – REQUIRED

• Epic charting experience – REQUIRED

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
