Full-time Nanny in LA (USA) plus 2 to 3 months in London each summer

Days: Monday to Friday

Hours: Up to 55 hours per week, typically between 7:30am and 7:30pm, depending on the family’s schedule.

Children: Three children aged 3, 5 and 8, with a new baby due in early 2027

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm, dynamic, high-profile creative family. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with very hands-on, involved parents, another experienced nanny, and the wider household team to provide exceptional care for the children. The family values open communication, teamwork and mutual respect, creating a positive and supportive working environment.

The family have three children aged 3, 5 and 8, with a new baby due in early 2027. This is a shared-care position working alongside another nanny. While you will support all of the children, your primary responsibility will be the 3-year-old and the newborn, while also providing support to the older siblings as needed.

The family embraces a gentle, respectful, child-led approach to parenting and values candidates who are familiar with Waldorf principles and other holistic approaches to childcare. Additional qualifications in childcare, child development or holistic education are highly desirable.

The family spends each summer in London but is based in Los Angeles for the remainder of the year. The successful candidate must therefore be happy to relocate to Los Angeles, where excellent live in accommodation, a car and visa support will be provided. The role is offered on a UK contract and paid in GBP.

Role Overview

· Working collaboratively with another nanny, highly involved parents and the household team.

· Child-focused role involving both sole charge and shared care.

· Primarily caring for two children at a time, with occasional responsibility for all four children.

· Supporting the children’s emotional wellbeing, development and independence through positive, engaging experiences.

· Planning age-appropriate, child-led activities, outings and creative play opportunities.

· Encouraging learning through play while following each child’s individual interests and developmental stage.

· Creating a nurturing, stimulating and secure environment where the children can thrive.

· Maintaining structured yet flexible daily routines to balance learning, play, meals and rest.

· Preparing fresh, balanced and nutritious meals and snacks for the children.

· Assisting with all nursery duties, including children’s wardrobe organisation and well maintained.

· Cleaning up after children’s meals and activities.

· Working closely with parents to ensure consistency in routines, values and expectations.

· Travelling with the family throughout the year.

· Happy to relocate to Los Angeles and spend 2–3 months in London each summer.

Essential Requirements

· Minimum 7 years’ experience in a comparable nanny role with excellent, checkable references.

· Extensive newborn experience.

· Full driving licence and confidence driver (car provided).

· Valid DBS check.

· Comfortable travelling internationally several times per year.

· Flexible when the family’s schedule requires additional support.

Duties:

Newborn Responsibilities:

· Providing experienced and confident care from birth.

· Supporting feeding routines, where required.

· Establishing and maintaining healthy sleep routines in line with the family’s preferences.

· Monitoring developmental milestones throughout infancy.

· Keeping records of feeds, naps, medication and developmental progress if requested.

· Managing all nursery duties relating to the baby, nursery organisation and maintaining baby equipment.

· Supporting the transition as the new baby joins the family while nurturing positive sibling relationships.

· Preparing nutritious meals during weaning and supporting age-appropriate development.

· Providing calm, responsive and nurturing care while respecting the parents’ wishes and parenting style.

· Confident travelling internationally with a newborn and managing all baby travel essentials.

Travel Preparation & Packing:

Coordinating and organising all travel arrangements for the children, including packing appropriate clothing, toys, educational materials, baby equipment and all essential items required for each destination.

General Duties:

· Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate, child-led activities.

· Supporting children’s learning, creativity and emotional development.

· Preparing healthy meals and snacks.

· Keeping children’s areas clean, tidy and organised.

· Managing children’s wardrobes and seasonal clothing.

· Driving the children to school, activities, appointments and outings.

· Supporting bedtime and evening routines when required.

· Flexibility to stay overnight when needed.

· Travelling with the family approximately 4–6 times per year.

· Liaising effectively with parents, the second nanny and the wider household team.

· Supporting the changing needs of a growing family and confidently adapting routines following the arrival of the new baby.
