Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 161747

We are partnering with a growing organization in Orange County seeking an Accounting Manager on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing the close process, and supporting the development of the accounting team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Responsibilities Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Manage general ledger activity, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations Supervise and mentor accounting staff (3 direct reports), providing guidance and oversight on daily tasks and development Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and internal policies Establish and maintain internal controls and improve accounting processes Support audit activities and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors Perform variance analysis and provide insights to support business decisions Partner cross-functionally with finance and operations to support reporting and analysis Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed Drive process improvements and help streamline workflows across the accounting function Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Active CPA or willingness to obtain license 7 years of progressive accounting experience with prior leadership or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting processes Experience managing month-end close and multi-entity environments preferred Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (Oracle preferred but not required) Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a hands-on capacity while managing multiple priorities Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
