Description:

ENG- Design and develop RF and digital satellite communication systems while supporting communication digital payload development, signal processing architectures, requirements and interfaces, performance analysis, subsystem trade studies, prototype demonstrations, integration simulations, and ASIC and FPGA system design and verification.

#Education & Job Requirements

*Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
*6+ years of experience with signal processing or image processing
*10+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering
*Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years of experience, Master's degree with 12 or more years of experience, or PhD with 9 or more years of experience
*Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
*Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

#Preferred Skills

*Master's degree in signal processing or a similar degree with an algorithm development focus
*Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
*Digital Signal Processing-based classes, projects, or work experience
*Simulink experience in work or school; Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
*Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
*Verification planning and principles, while applying theoretical knowledge to resolve real-world problems
*Typically 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications

#Job Duties & Functions

*Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
*Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures
*Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces for communication digital payloads
*Develop performance and link budgets
*Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models
*Execute payload subsystem trade studies to improve performance, cost, and/or schedule
*Create prototype demonstrations on communication subsystem testbeds
*Plan unit-level integration and performance simulations
*Support ASIC and FPGA-level system design and verification
*Assist with hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs
