SAFETY SENSITIVE : HIGH – position is subject to pre-employment, drug, and alcohol screening. ** Regular on-site attendance at GIRE locations in GIRE service area is required. Work schedules may include assignments at multiple locations in any given shift.** The starting wage for this position is $26.00 per hour. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB: The Goodwill Connect! Navigator will engage in a wide spectrum of activities to both deliver/expand current programs to the public. The purpose of all GIRE mission services programs is to assist community members in acquiring the education, skills, work readiness training and other services to reach their full potential. Services will be offered at designated Goodwill Connect! centers inside GIRE store locations or other locations in the community. Service may be provided to individuals, groups, or a combination and to community members or GIRE staff. All services may be provided directly or in collaboration with other GIRE programs, other organizations or volunteers; and will be delivered at zero cost to the recipient. The needs of mission services programs will evolve, particularly as programs expand and as new centers are opened. Therefore, the role and work assignments will evolve over time. PROVIDES SUPERVISION TO : None ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Educate - Plan, Build, Develop
- Participate in planning the design and rollout of Goodwill Connect! service offerings.
- Understand the fundamentals of all GIRE programs and service offerings, be able to adapt them for use as part of Goodwill Connect! and/or help community members connect with mission services staff members who have the relevant expertise.
- Create and update program design, procedure manuals and other key program documentation in alignment with organizational and other relevant standards.
- Embrace and share the Goodwill Connect! messaging with the community.
- Under the leadership of the Assistant Director of Mission Education and the Goodwill Connect! Manager, plan and conduct outreach activities to identify community members who will benefit from all Goodwill service offerings.
- Represent and promote programs and services to employers, community-based organizations, partners, and others as appropriate in order to increase community awareness, the number of participants, and service delivery.
- Represent the agency at community events such as job fairs, resume clinics, and tabling events.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local community resources.
- Bring forward new ideas and suggestions to meet community needs.
- Work directly with participants including both community members and GIRE staff to assess skills, interests, academic and career goals, work/life support needs, and health and financial well-being.
- Provide work readiness training and support services such as resume building, job search skills, mock interviews, soft skills development, and job coaching.
- Assess digital skills competencies and provide digital skills training, utilizing the Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator® methodology and offerings.
- Provide guidance and referrals to resources in the community that will assist participants in attaining educational, career, or life goals.
- Organize and/or deliver classes, workshops, and other events that address the needs of community participants.
- Provide on-going case management, as appropriate, during and after services are delivered and maintain participant records that meet organizational and other relevant standards.
- Complete reporting in a timely manner and with accuracy.
- Gather participant feedback to assess effectiveness of services and identify new service offerings.
- Maintain confidentiality of all participant information and other appropriate materials.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all agency and CARF policies and procedures.
- Report accidents, unsafe vehicles, or other unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Conduct self in a courteous and professional manner.
- Attend all scheduled meetings, including safety and online safety trainings.
- Serve as backup for other members on the Mission Services team, as needed
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, or equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant work experience. Higher education degree preferred (Associates or Bachelor) .
- Must be fingerprinted and approved by the Department of Justice prior to start of work.
- Valid CA Class C Driver’s License, and an MVR allowing insurable status.
- Must have access to a reliable passenger vehicle and proof of auto insurance that supports completion of essential and ancillary functions of the position.
- Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate that the essential functions of the job can be performed, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Experience using Microsoft Suite including
- Teams: Managing Teams/channels, using functions such video meetings/calls, sharing content, posting/chatting
- PowerPoint: Preparing and delivering presentations using functions such as inserting pictures/shapes/SmartArt, animations and transitions
- Word: Creating and formatting documents, using functions such as track changes, tables, and headers/footers.
- Excel: Creating and managing budgets and reports, using functions such as formulas, sorting, and filtering.
- Respect for others.
- Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand, speak and be understood in English. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to perform effectively both independently and cooperatively as part of a team with flexibility and agility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing/sitting intermittently throughout the work shift; repetitive finger movements with frequent computer use; bending and stooping. Good visual acuity. Ability to regularly lift and move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:
Position promotable to more senior level role of similar nature, in any GIRE program, with demonstrated mastery of skills, acquisition of relevant trainings, certifications, or experience, as positions are available. All promotions are based on business needs and demonstrated skills and achievements.
