Geotechnical Engineer

Webuild () is currently in search of an experienced Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager to spearhead a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects throughout the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area.

Our ideal candidate boasts a substantial background, with a minimum of 6+ years of Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist experience, specializing in the oversight of geotechnical engineering projects. These projects encompass a wide range of challenges, including slope stability, rockfall mitigation, landslide remediation, dam construction, and related retaining structures with scopes of work up to $10 million.

Your role as a Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Cultivating strong customer relationships and contributing to proposal development.
• Conducting comprehensive project cost estimates and overseeing budget management.
• Leading technical engineering design and conditional reviews.
• Efficiently scheduling resources to optimize project execution.
• Providing on-site geotechnical observations during construction phases, as needed.

As the Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager, you will take on a central role in guiding project activities across a portfolio of ongoing endeavors spanning the northern California region. This will entail the management of a multidisciplinary team of professionals, thorough assessment of project conditions, and the execution of geotechnical engineering designs for complex civil infrastructure. Furthermore, you will be responsible for directing all soil and rock sampling and laboratory testing activities pertaining to these projects.

Qualifications for this role include:

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and/or Geological Sciences.
• A Master's degree in Geological Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering is highly desirable.
• Professional registrations as a Certified Engineering Geologist and/or Professional Engineer (PE), (GE) in California are mandatory.
