Program Overview

Provide critical communications and tracking for multiple spacecraft from three complexes located globally, and operates year round 24 hours/7days to provide continuous contact with the spacecraft. The program fulfills NASA goals by supporting NASA deep space mission set, including NASA-funded missions and collaborative international missions.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a full-time Janitor to join our team in our Fort Irwin, CA complex to support the Deep Space Network (DSN) Contract with NASA/JPL. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, such duties as required to ensure the facility is cleaned in accordance with prescribed standards.

The Deep Space Network is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never before seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.

This position will be responsible for:

• Empty trash throughout the complex.
• Vacuum carpets.
• Steam clean and shampoo carpets.
• Wax floors, buff tiles and wash windows.
• Clean restrooms and other miscellaneous cleaning tasks.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

• Office/Warehouse environment

• Lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing stairs, walking
• Occasional shift work.
• Must be able to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold & humidity
• Interface with internal and external customers.
• Dusty, loud/high noise areas

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and 1+ years of experience is required in the janitorial field.
• A valid California driver's license (must possess and retain).
• Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC). In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• The ability to work as a team member or independently and be self-motivated
• The ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and procedures without direct supervision.

Target Salary Range: The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
