Head of Brand Marketing
Company: Client co. Comp: $190k-$300k+ plus Bonus & Equity

Role Overview & Scope
We are seeking a visionary and hands-on VP of Branding & Marketing to build Client co.’s presence from the ground up within the highly competitive sports technology and performance market. This is a critical leadership role for an original-thinker who understands that in the athletic world, growth is driven by community, authenticity, and legendary storytelling, not just ad spend. You must possess the unique ability to define a massive brand direction and simultaneously roll up your sleeves to personally execute the groundwork.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Athletic Narrative Building & Brand Mythology: Create, define "Client co. Story." This isn’t just marketing. Ideal person will understand that our growth must be rooted in narrative, not high ad spend. This is the single most critical skill for this position.
- Athlete, Creator, & Ecosystem Development: Ability to identify, recruit, and manage long-term relationships with athletes, high-level trainers, and key fitness opinion leaders. You will develop an ongoing ecosystem of brand partners, moving away from "one-off campaigns" and toward deep, sustained athletic community engagement.
- Performance Brand Building: Proven experience taking a concept to a market-ready consumer brand. You must have built an athletic or performance brand from absolute ideas to GTM, not just maintained an established one.
- DTC Athletic Go-to-Market Execution: Hands-on expertise in defining and executing the initial launch and subsequent Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) sales strategy for a new consumer product line within client sports and wellness space.
- Strategist + Operator Mindset: You must be a visionary leader capable of mapping out the multi-year brand direction while also having the capability (and will) to personally execute day-to-day marketing tasks during our early-stage growth phase.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Years of Experience: 8+ years in brand marketing.
- Leadership Experience: A minimum of 3+ years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of Brand, VP Marketing, or equivalent title).
- Key Areas of Expertise: Proven success in consumer brand building, high-level DTC marketing, athletic creator/influencer strategy development, and comprehensive visual identity development.
