Job Description and Duties

Anticipated Interview Dates: We anticipate holding in-person interviews beginning the week of March 2, 2026.

California Public Employees' Retirement System’s (CalPERS’) Pension Contracts & Prefunding Programs (PCPP) division is seeking a Supervisor I to oversee the Administration and Reporting of the California Employers’ Retiree Benefit Trust (CERBT) and California Employers’ Pension Prefunding Trust (CEPPT) funds.

The CERBT & CEPPT funds are Internal Revenue Section 115 Trust funds dedicated to prefunding employer Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) and employer pension contributions for eligible California public agencies. Employer participation in these trust funds is voluntary, making exceptional customer service and strong organizational skills essential for ensuring accurate fund operations and administration.

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Supervisor I oversees daily administrative operations—including contributions, disbursements, actuarial valuation data collection, quarterly statements, contract facilitation—and responds to employer inquiries.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.

This is a Limited Term position for a duration of 12 months that may be extended up to 24 months and/or may become permanent.

Statement of Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position.   • Ability to lead, coordinate, and organize multiple initiatives and work streams simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of and ability to discuss and explain concepts related to accounting, actuarial science, financial reporting, and investments.
  • Experience working with internal and external staff and management at different levels.
  • Writing skills sufficient to produce clear, concise communications and reports that effectively summarize research and project findings.
