The County of Yolo General Services Department is recruiting to fill one (1) regular, full-time position in the class of Secretary to the Director Nonsupervisory. The Department and Position The General Services Department is responsible for managing the County's facilities, constructing capital projects, operating the County's regional park system, overseeing countywide procurement processes, and operating the county's airport. This vacant position performs a variety of secretarial and administrative tasks for the General Services Director and/or designee and assists customers by interpreting and applying policy and administrative regulations. The ideal candidate

  • possesses excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal supplement with outstanding professional and political acumen to coordinate activities of the Department's top management staff.
  • must possess extensive knowledge of the unique and complex issues and activities related to the General Services Department.
  • is detailed oriented and has solid organizational skills to complete multiple assignments with competing priorities.
  • is able to coordinate, plan, and assist with public events.
  • is proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Zoom, and other related software.
  • is able to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Employment Standards

Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly difficult and responsible secretarial, business or administrative experience.
