Accounting Clerk - AP

Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk will assist in the performance and maintenance of the financial activities of the organization with responsibility for the day to day activities of AP/AR team associates. The accounting specialist will actively support and perform the accounting function in the areas of AP, AR, and general accounting.

Job Responsibilities

• Review invoices and statements for accuracy
• Code and process incoming invoices (3-way match) according to company procedures
• Upload invoices into ERP System
• Respond to vendor inquiries, research and resolve billing disputes
• Maintain proper back up files for research and reference
• Research for audits, provide backup
• Ensure compliance with all standard accounting polices and SOX requirements
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers
• Communicate as necessary with accounting team to ensure invoices are processed timely
• Assist in the month-end closing process
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or construction accounting
• Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, in-person and by telephone
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention to detail
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge of basic accounting math and accurate in data entry with 10-key operation experience

• Experience using Lawson Software, and Salesforce preferred

Compensation

• $24-$28 per hour, based on experience
