Weatherization Specialist

Entry-level position offering the opportunity to develop skills in performing weatherization upgrades and minor home repairs. The role focuses on delivering high-quality work while meeting daily production goals and adhering to the contractual PG&E requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

• Successfully complete all required training as outlined in the Weatherization Specialist Training Plan before beginning work.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and ladders.
• Capable of climbing into attics to inspect and install insulation as needed.
• Install approved Energy Efficiency Measures, including but not limited to thermostat replacement, light fixtures, doors, glass, cover plates, wall patches, showerheads and removing filters to determine NGAT needs.
• Assess the feasibility of Energy Efficiency Measures based on training.
• Accurately document and report non-feasibility reasons for measures not installed.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and maintain efficiency.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication of actions, irregularities, and needs.
• Participate in all required training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company policies, procedures, and regulations (including vehicle maintenance and cleanliness standards).
• Represent the company professionally while working in customers’ homes.
• Uphold confidentiality regarding company operations and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by WS Leads, Supervisors and the General Manager.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• 1+ year of experience in the building industry doing carpentry, maintenance, mechanical work.
• Construction experience preferably with drywall, baseboards and carpentry.
• Home or apartment Maintenance experience.
• Home improvement and or remodeling experience
• Proficiency in operating hand and power tools such as skill saws, power drills, and utility knives.
• Able to climb up and down ladders up to 16 feet.
• High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
• Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and identify, document and report information.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to drive, walk, climb, crawl, push, pull, reach, sit, stand, climb ladders, and work with various tools and equipment. Must be able to operate a pallet jack. Can listen, understand, and communicate in writing and verbally. The employee will frequently be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
