Bookkeeper
Block LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate, compliant recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment where accuracy is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and accounting systems on a daily and weekly basis.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare and send invoices, including legal billing formats (hourly, contingency, or flat-fee).
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and trust/IOLTA accounts in compliance with state bar requirements.
- Track expenses, reimbursements, settlements, and disbursements.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense tracking.
- Generate financial reports for partners, including monthly statements, forecasting summaries, and budget updates.
- Monitor case-related costs and ensure they are properly allocated and recorded.
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
Full-time or part-time
Compensation:
$25.00 - $30.00 /hr
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Solid knowledge of standard bookkeeping principles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy across high-volume transactions.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with attorneys, staff, and vendors.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
